"I am a son of the road. The caravan is my home and life is an amazing adventure."

These short lines encompass the philosophy of life for many of us, lovers of unlimited lands, of silent and unexplored jungles, of volcanoes and mountains to climb toward clear, contrasting skies, of desert without horizons where the soul can be heard with every breath. All we need is someone to show us how to draw our tracks, one after the other, as in a slow motion walk - tracks that connect  a world without frontiers...the world of someone who knows how to travel.

THE JOURNEY
An extraordinary trip will take you through the history and evolution of tobacco on a path winding through perfumed flowers, cultivated fields and boundless lands, where time-defying small villages and family herds mark the trail. Fragrances, smells, legends and star-filled horizons help us discover a very special world - the world of the cigar. The journey focuses mostly on the northern part of the country, where most of the plantations are found. From January through May, from sprout to stem and blossom, the scene is full of memorable displays, where man and nature are the unique and undisputed protagonists. Our path then travels many kilometres across boundless lands and imposing volcanoes to the great lake of Nicaragua and the island of Ometepe; here we will be able to visit some of the plantations and take in the rural scenery painted in the colours of the land.

Our route will lead us to experts and technicians dedicated to this extraordinary protagonist, tobacco - uncovering its tail from the sixteenth century to the present, from its discovery to when it began to be used by indigenous  communities, from its origins in South America to its exportation to the old continent.

A path through history that will take us to the heart of a fascinating and beautiful country: NICARAGUA.
